"Love you to the moon and back" - Maja Design DT Creation

Thank you so much for joining me here today. It has been a whole week since I last created and let's say I was totally needing to get a little crafty time in today! I am now at peace with myself and feel much more relaxed. So this is what I was doing to get to that relaxed feeling.......my next instalment of Maja Design.

"Love you to the moon and back"......

My gorgeous youngest and I have used this saying for as long as I remember. It is just our thing and it is very special to us! Although our version on "and back...." is repeated many times over until one of us wins. So cute! She has now entered high school this year and I thought that this special thing may now be over, but low and behold a few nights back she whipped it out, so it is only fitting that I use it here today,

This new print of papers of Soferio are just stunning! I unfortunately did not ever see the first print of these papers so for me this was very new! And I was not disappointed not one little bit. In fact I went off on a tangent and created another little something something straight after......so one could say that I have the Soferio bug....lol ......

I liken these colours to lollies which......I love to work with at all times! And it was my great fortune that the same day that this Maja goodie box arrived, I also received a goodie box from 49andMarket with the newest range of Shimmer and Shine flowers. And wouldn't you know it they fit together perfectly!! It was a match made in heaven.

And the third thing that matched perfectly of course was my Dusty Attic chipboards..........they fit with everything!! My chipboards were dressed in gesso and Crackle Texture Pastes. They were inked and also I rubbed over a little Liquid Pearls with the matching colour "Blush". It also was a perfect match and funnily enough this is a new colour just out from Liquid Pearls. I love this colour it is just stunning.

I have used 49andMarket stamp sets (Ethereal and Line Stitch) both designed by the very talented Gabrielle Pollacco. The line stitch was powder embossed around the frame work of Enjoying the Fragrance. Once it was heat set I cut around the outside to create a wavy effect and distressed the edges. I also lightly ink the edges with Ground Espresso distress ink. The remainder of the background was stamped with the Criss Cross from Ethereal and I also used a Criss Cross Stencil from Dusty Attic with little texture paste to add to the background. This page was then layered ontop of Strolling down the rose path, which edges were also distressed and inked.

I used the same named papers from Soferio's 6 x 6 paper pack to do some matting for my photo. These were also distressed and lightly inked. Then I mounted these upon a heart arrangement of chipboards. I have listed these below for you along with everything else I used for your convenience.
I so hope you have enjoyed your visit today....and thank you for taking the time to see my work here.

From the bottom of my heart....thank you. xxx

"Everything beautiful has it's moment" - More Than Words Challenge Guest Design

A very warm welcome to you and thank you for joining me on this special occasion. Today I am very pleased to announce that I am Guest Designing this month at the "More than Words" Challenge. I was so excited when I first got the news, but at the same time I was so nervous. It has been a long time since doing a challenge for me. However when I saw the board I relaxed immediately. Everything on this board is just so me, wouldn't you agree.
So the rules for following this challenge correctly are:

The Main Challenge board contains a word inspiration and a creative challenge.
  • You must use the word as inspiration. We need to be able to see the word inspiration on your project.
  • Along with the word inspiration, the board contains a creative challenge (technique, colour, product or other) that you must incorporate unto your project.
  • The Main Challenge is open to layouts, canvases and art journal pages only.  No cards, tags, ATCs or OTPs are accepted.

So using the word BEAUTIFUL I chose to use a rub-on quote which I adore. It reads:

"Everything BEAUTIFUL has its Moment".

And for the remainder of the layout I chose to keep it all fairly simple and quite flat but there is plenty of layering with fussy cut elements and laces and ephemera, with of course the BUTTERFLIES tucked in and around the clusters.

For my background I have used some Texture Paste through a flourish stencil. Once it dried I coloured it with a little Distress Ink Walnut Stain. I also outlined my Dusty Attic chipboards with the Distress Stain after it was primed with a few coats of Gesso.

I have added in amongst my layers Tea Dyed Cheesecloth and gorgeous laces to help keep the layers separate.

And from another view.....

And another

That is all from me this evening. Remember if you are interested, you still have till the end of the month to enter. As always I have listed a full materials list for you below.

And before I leave I would like to thank all the ladies at More Than Words Challenges for a wonderful opportunity to create as a Guest Designer for their wonderful Challenge Blog.

Until next time take care and happy scrapping.

"Footprints" - 49andMarket Design Team Creation

A big welcome back.
I have my second instalment tonight using the very new Scents of Nature collection from 49andMarket. The moment I laid my eyes on a sneak peek of this collection a few months back, I instantly new that these blues were going to be my first point of call. And so it was! This layout was titled using a quote from my big box of rub-ons. It reads:

Take only memories, leave nothing but Footprints,

so very appropriate for this layout I thought.

This photo of my eldest daughter was taken a couple of years back when our fur babies were just that, babies. We were on holidays at our favourite beach destination and whilst we were there the beach was our main activity, as our holiday house was only metres away. Sweet heaven.
Since then we have been back time and time again. My other favourite thing to do whilst we are on holidays there is to collect beautiful things from the beach front. I have many containers of seaweed, shells, pumicestone, etc, etc. The shells that you will see on all my beach layouts are from this beautiful beach. When creating layouts I always like to add a element of something that I have collected from that special time to keep the memory with the layout more realistic.

My background page was made from "The Forgotten" (below) patterned paper......it is absolutely stunning. I could use this piece over and over and over again! It was firstly primed with clear gesso and then I did a combination of stamping and embossing using Gabrielle's "Faded Damask" Stamp Set. If you haven't got this one in your collection.......do yourself a favour!!! Absolutely amazing stamp. I have also used the script stamp from Gabi's Etheral stamp set.

Vintage Shades Blue Blossoms

My photo was matted with "Blue Petals" (below).

And from another view...here you can see the layering of the shells, chipboards and flowers. I have used Dusty Attic chippies to embellish my layout. Some were simply dressed in Embossing Powders, others in white gesso and edged with Dusty Attic Denim acrylic paint.

And some more close-ups for you!

Well this is where I will leave you tonight. I do hope you have enjoyed your visit here tonight. Thanks for dropping by and until next time, happy scrapping.

"Happy Go Lucky" Dusty Attic DT Moodboard and 49andMarket DT project

Hello and welcome back. I hope this post finds you well. Today I have my combined Dusty Attic and 49andMarket Design Team creation to share with you. I have titled it ......

"Happy Go Lucky"

For this layout I have used the Dusty Attic moodboard for inspiration. I have it below for you.

Isn't is just gorjussssssss????
So I have taken a couple of these inspirational snippits and added them to my layout. They are the colours from the bouquet in the basket on the bike, and the tint of browns from the feathers at the bottom. As for the sketch.....well yes I have used that to some extent and then moved on from there! I am terrible at following a sketch. But this is what moodboards are all about, taking one piece of inspiration and turning it into your own.

This project has been titled "Happy Go Lucky", which is exactly what my third child is. Nothing bothers her and she has a heart of gold.  She is also very eager to please and loves nothing more than to see people happy! So when mum asks for her to smile she does and then some!

For this layout I have combined two of the 49andMarket collections, Vintage Artistry and Heirloom Botanicals. My background was made using both cut up torn and layered.

My base page was covered with white gesso to tone down the colours and then I added in a little Dusty Pink Acrylic Paint to balance the purple and pink in the layout. I have also added in some texture using Dusty Attic's Script Stencil and Texture Paste.

I have used Dusty Attic's Elegant Pearls to look like they are hanging from the Leafy Flourish (DA0759) above. Both of the chippies were dressed in gesso and coloured with Distress Inks and paints. I have also dressed the Elegant Pearls with pink pearls. The Dusty Attic chipboard "Capture this Moment" was dressed with embossing powder and then wiped over with a little gesso.

I have finally gotten to used the newest to the 49andMarket flower range......"Vintage Shades".....I love this so much!! If you don't have these in your collection yet ...you should! They are just stunning! And there are two shades through the flowers which you don't see until you flip up the petals......toooo gorgeous! I have cut a couple of these in half to make them go further. They have all been dusted over with a little gesso.

And I forgot to mention the foliage that comes with the Vintage Shades flowers........gorgeous yet again. I am a lover of foliage and each pack has plenty to go around. I have also added in a little moss for added texture.

I have also added in some lace blooms with pearls.

I love this little Word Strips pack. These pieces are the perfect addition to every layout.

Well that is all from me today. I hope you have enjoyed my moodboard inspired creation today. If you have the time why not give the moodboard a try. There is a $100 Dusty Attic voucher up for grabs for the winning entry. Imagine What you could do with all that chipboard!!

Thanks for visiting.
